top 8 – Fascinating Links of the Week

11 Jul

This week was full of research, so I have a lot to share. Let me know if you enjoyed them and have ones of your own to share.

1. Tonic is a website for good news. Nicely designed and very interactive. Viewers can vote on whether articles make them feel happy, intrigued, inspired or just laugh. The featured thought offers readers a simple quite moment for their day. Check out their Tonic Lists!

2. The Fun Theory is an initiative by Volkswagen that claims something as simple as fun can change a person’s behavior. I tend to agree with their statement after perusing their inspiring videos. How would you make more people use the stairs instead of the escalator? VW has a suggestion.

3. Listorious Twitter lists make life better, therefore I recommend checking this site out. Aside from boasting lists by category, you can send interview questions and get answers from people on Twitter in every category listed. A nice resource to have for Twitter.

4. Toothpaste For Dinner is pure entertainment. Whenever I need laugh, I’m on this site.

5. Blip FM If you’ve ever wanted to be a DJ or even grew up making mixed tapes, check this site out. Make your own playlists and even feed into Twitter for a #musicmonday tweet. If you’d like to listen to what I’m playing.

6. Design Sponge is my house mecca! Always great design and craft ideas, as well as tasty recipes and expert interviews.

7. Stop sending boring ecards and try SomeEcards. They are quite sarcastic and witty. Great to catch a person off guard. Bonus: They are free!

8. Ever wanted to show a bad design what needs to be fixed? Enter the Design Police. A free, downloadable visual enforcement kit can help you tag items that need to be kerned or contain a typo. Bring on the critics!
